It was the end of the 19th century when, at the beginning of an empire in the department stores, Mr. Eaton decided to develop and produce a series of excellent watches with a Swiss heart but mainly for the North American market, under its namesake brand first and later the Solar Aqua brand. The company established a strong reputation by supplying watches to the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War.

 THE ORIGINS AND DISAPPEARANCE 

The name Solar Aqua derives from the late–20th–century merger of the North American brand Solar and the Swiss brand Aqua.   

Following the closure of Eaton’s department stores in 1999, Solar Aqua disappeared from the market
