Solar Aqua is pleased to have you among our customers, we inform you that the watch you have purchased is guaranteed against all manufacturing defects for 24 months from the date of purchase. Any part found to be defective due to a manufacturing issue, as determined by our technical service, will be replaced free of charge. The following are excluded from the warranty: defects resulting from accidents or improper use (impact, crushing, etc.), the use of non-prescribed batteries, batteries left discharged inside the watch, alterations, damage, repairs, or interventions by unauthorized third parties. Also excluded from the warranty are: batteries, glass, discoloration of the plating or color, a consequence of normal wear and normal aging of the watch.

Design

Mishipeshu O. Blue Croco – 47°45'N 85°45'W, Where the Legend Lives

47°45'1.074"N – 85°45'50.219"W. These coordinates, engraved on the Mishipeshu O., lead to Michipicoten Island, a wild and remote island in the eastern waters of Lake Superior. According to Ojibwe tradition, this is the lair of the Mishipeshu, the underwater panther of the Great Lakes: a water monster with a horned head and a body covered in copper scales, living in opposition to the thunderbirds, masters of the powers of the air. The legend tells that the Mishipeshu guarded the island’s precious copper, raising storms and dragging into the depths anyone who dared to take it.

The Mishipeshu O. carries this story with it. The open lugs are cut through like the claw marks of the creature, and the trident at the tip of the seconds hand evokes the power of the waters. The multilayer dial recalls icy lakebeds and the rocky surfaces of Mount Odin. On the case back, a laser-engraved map of the Great Lakes region marks the territory of the legend.

Lake Superior reaches 406 metres at its deepest point, and the Mishipeshu O. is built to go further, down to 500 metres. It is a watch made to follow the monster into its own domain, with the coordinates of the legend always on your wrist.

The dial

The multilayer dial recalls the icy lakebeds and rocky surfaces of Mount Odin, and carries the depth of Lake Superior: 406 m / 1,332 ft. Oversized arrow hands and indexes in white Super-LumiNova® keep it legible in the dark, while the trident-tipped seconds hand evokes the power of the waters. It is framed by a unique faceted unidirectional bezel, with three-dimensional polished numerals on a matte background that catch the light at every angle. Under the domed sapphire crystal, the dial looks towards the place engraved on the case: 47°45'1.074"N – 85°45'50.219"W, Michipicoten Island, lair of the Mishipeshu.

The caseback

The screw-down caseback in 316L stainless steel, with a circular satin finish, works with the screw-down crown to keep the Solar Aqua Mishipeshu O. water-resistant to 500 metres. At its centre is a medallion engraved with a map of the Great Lakes, home of the legendary Mishipeshu, the underwater panther of Ojibwe tradition. The anthracite ring carries the details of this Swiss Made automatic dive watch: automatic movement and sapphire crystal.
